Finding Balance as a Creative | Real Creative Lives
Four artists join the CreativeLive content team for a candid conversation on mental health and creativity.
The creative's path is filled with peaks and valleys. At best, joy and fulfillment come from art that reflects who we are, what we believe, and the way we see the world. But we also encounter tremendous self-doubt, impostor syndrome, detrimental comparison to others, and severe stress along the way.
Left unchecked, this can take a serious toll on our mental health.
Recently, the CreativeLive content team had the chance to chat with four creative entrepreneurs to hear about their mental health and mindset journeys, the challenges of being an artist, and more.
A huge piece of coping with the challenges of the creative journey is understanding that you’re not alone. Every path is unique, but the emotions and challenges along the way have many similarities across the board. Don’t be afraid to speak up about the difficulties you’re experiencing. When you keep it inside, it can eat away at you and create stronger feelings of isolation and doubt that will only negatively impact your work. Keep putting one foot in front of the other, make time to do things you enjoy, surround yourself with people you love, be intentional about your mental health, and keep creating.

Bravo👏
24:26-24:40 pure GOLD. So grateful for having found Sue. Thank you, CL!
Thanks boss this was so helpful👌
Wish there was an app where you are given pictures and you have to set the parameters like in this case. That would really help newbies like me
I did some photography with my cats...they came out heavenly
It may look better in terms of shape and size of the body, but the 1st thing that comes to my mind is : it's not natural, I've never seen a woman stand like this. And this instantly throws me off. It's a lot more obvious in the woman's poses. The man seemed to naturally adopt a more... well, natural position.
Thank. I finally insert this with the back button holding it down and releasing. You’re a good teacher
Nice
Good refresher course working with various people, and lighting. Thanks.
Have you ever had the back focus or focus problem that people talk about? If so what's the solution? Much appreciated
It looks like a teddy bear
Are you actually suggesting that someone with a fractal product cannot manage to purchase whatever decent monitor they like? 😂
Thank you for this!!! I needed this so much! Well explained! Aperture and your trigger! Equals the amount of power of your flash! Dah!
I paid 30k at uni for this 4 min video?
4:00 my problem solved. Yes! like how are you gon be able to take all those to get and freeze that moment :( Patience patience patience
My son is also named Estrada Bradshaw
What lens are you using
Hey I just featured this camera in my new youtube short titled "I QUIT FILM Photography to be a Rodeo Clown" Check it out if you got 30 seconds to spare! Thanks for sharing!
Exactly what not to do for professional modeling and photography.
You sure like to destroy a model image shooting hands! ASK - What is the purpose of a model image? What is a client looking for in a model or a model image? I've shot around 8000 models, 45 million images and I never seen so much entertainment versus professional model photography. Modeling is common sense. You got it or you don't. At 3 years old, I had it. Do you know the purpose of a model image so you don't put hands near the face or make a dress shot become a distracting hand shot? If you were interviewing would you turn your shoulder to the interviewer? Would you put your hand near the face? Don't people put their hands up to distract and draw attention to a friend, tabor bus? Why would you distract from the subject and make your shots about hands so your images are beat out by first day model photographers? Not only do you shoot hands, but you block bodies with forearms , surely adding distracting shadows and breaking up the REAL purpose of a model image. Learn your trade. If you do your will learn that all this posing BS isn't how you become the best model or model photographer.
Why would you put fingers near face? Because you saw another start up do so. What is the purpose of a model image? Been shooting agency models since 1966 and would never ever, ever do any of this for you want professional images and shoot for features.
Total beginner
What if you doing drink coffee
@1:00 Is the focal plane different from the point of covergence? I thought there was a point within the lens where light intersects and then projects onto the camera film or sensor, hence lens mm lengths?
Thank you for great video!
Just clean cut 😊😊 thanks for the information
This method of cutting patterns is new for me. Thank you for sharing your video, it gave me the confidence I needed!
AI. "Thanks for the lesson I can do this in 1 second" On another note nice pictures
That's so awesome! You are being interviewed during group photos! Nice one.
I love the theory he presents. But id like to point out something that highlights his passion. As he starts talking notice that he slows down and trips on words.. At first I thought it was camera shyness. But as he progressed I realized as he was explaining things he was literally visualizing the chain in action. So he was pausing because he was literally pausing while he was routing the signal. I rewound the video a few times to line it up. This is passion. This man LIVES in the mix.
Thank you
Yes sir
You are a very good teacher. Thanks for this information
Nice!! I'm gonna subscribe to this channel. I need some good, quick photography lessons to improve my photos lol Thanks for the class!
I don't get it. If the focal point is a point, then shouldn't the camera sensor also be infinitely small?
The focal point should land on the surface of the sensor, which is an infinitely thin surface.
Very useful. Say you wanted a Bokeh and wanted to retain the exposure and then return back to previous settings? This video taught me how to do it so easily.
Let the camera pick the ISO
Great explanation easy to follow and understandable bike watched maybe half a dozen videos this morning and each one has blanked me out until I saw this great instructional video.
Excellent information. Own responsibility for posing your client
using an expo disc every time and still get the photo under exposed is insane, a total waste of time I think. I use my camera's metering system, compensate my exposure depending of the scene (bright or dark) not to get everything 18% gray, and get my picture correctly exposed every single time, and in a fraction of time.
This is the power of tiny habit. set small, achievable goals to do daily until you get big goals
❤

Great instructor. The video still useful today if have a studio or home use for fun or E Commerce.
Wow! That was really inspiring and informative
Great good sir. The point was to be wrong until you learn it.
Not a great lesson. Either it's a bad beauty dish or the photographer doesn't know what she's doing. She never got rid of the hot spot on the forehead. The beauty dish is supposed to provide a smooth, crisp, glamorous light source. That is why it's called a beauty dish. None of these results made the model look more glamorous. Very strange.
